"Third Generation" Phototypesetter

The "third generation" phototypesetting machine is a cathode ray tube (CRT) automatic phototypesetting machine, also known as a fully electronic automatic phototypesetting. Its working principle is: the text is compiled into digital, stored in a memory or made into a word template, stored, displayed and imaged on the X-ray screen of the cathode ray tube by electronic scanning, and then projected onto the photosensitive material exposure.

"Fourth Generation" Phototypesetter

"Fourth generation" imagesetter, also called laser imagesetter. The working principle of laser phototypesetting is: using laser plane line scanning, the laser beam is output by the helium-neon laser, and the font processed by the computer is focused on the photosensitive material through the multi-faceted rotating mirror projection to form the layout of the text.
