In this paper, EVA and recycled PE materials were used as substrates to study the effect of three different particle sizes of calcium carbonate on the foaming performance of EVA/regenerated PE materials. The particle size, particle size distribution, and aggregate morphology of the filler particles were studied. Aspects were analyzed.
1 Experimental part 1.1 The main raw material polymer: EVA (VA content 15%-18%), recycled PE, black masterbatch, are all industrial grade;
Packing: 400 mesh, 800 mesh and 2500 mesh heavy calcium carbonate, supplied by Dongguan Litai Chemical Raw Material Company;
Other compounding agents: foaming agent H (N, N'-dinitrosopentamine), industrial grade;
Helper foaming agent: salicylic acid, industrial grade;
Crosslinking agent: DCP (dicumyl peroxide), industrial grade.
1.2 The basic formula for foaming EVA, 100 parts; Recycled PE, 50 parts; Black masterbatch, 50 parts; Foaming agent, 7 parts; variable.
1.3 Process Operation Process 1.3.1 The rubber compounding process is performed on a 6-inch open electric heating compound mill at a temperature of 120±10°C. The order of addition is: EVA/recycled PE, black masterbatch auxiliary foaming agent, cross-linking agent, foaming agent Pinch evenly and take out the tablet.
1.3.2 foaming conditions temperature 165 ± 5 °C, pressure 14Mpa-15Mpa.
1.4 Experimental apparatus and equipment Open electric heating compounding machine, XKR-160R, Guangdong Zhanjiang Machinery Factory; vulcanization apparatus, LH-2 type, Shanghai Rubber Machinery Factory; 25 tons flat vulcanizing machine, XQLB-350×350, Shanghai A rubber machinery factory; hardness tester, XY-1 type, Shanghai Chemical Machinery Factory; particle size distribution meter, Mastersizer 2000 Ver.2.00 type, Malvern, UK company.
1.5 Performance Test 1.5.1 The foaming curve was measured with an LH-2 vulcanizer.
1.5.2 Volumetric expansion rate is expressed by the ratio (fold) of the volume of the foam volume measured by the vernier caliper and the cavity volume of the mold.
1.5.3 Hardness determination is performed with reference to GB571-76, which is expressed as an average of 5 points.
1.5.4 Apparent density expressed in mass per unit volume of foam (g/cm3)
2 Results and Discussion Experiments The single-factor variable method was used to determine the hardness, volume expansion rate, and apparent density of foams filled with calcium carbonate of different sizes and amounts. (Unfinished)
