Abstract: The main role of cigarette-coated aluminum paper is to prevent tobacco from getting wet. Therefore, tobacco companies should strengthen the monitoring of water vapor transmission rate of aluminum-plated paper. In this paper, Labsink's self-developed W3/031 water vapor transmission rate tester is used to test the barrier performance of cigarette-coated aluminum paper on external water vapor, and introduces the basic process of the test, the detection principle and the applicable scope of the test equipment. Enterprises can refer to the selection of moisture permeability test equipment and test methods.

1, meaning
Aluminized paper is mainly composed of base paper, aluminized layer and coating. It has good gloss and smoothness, good flexibility and certain barrier properties. 4.1 Test principle
W3/031 adopts the principle of wetting cup weighing method. Under certain temperature, the specific humidity difference is formed on both sides of the sample. The water vapor passes through the sample in the moisture permeable cup and enters the dry side. The amount of change in the moisture permeability of the moisture permeable cup over time is determined by parameters such as the water vapor transmission rate of the sample.

5, the test process
(1) Three samples of 74 mm in diameter were cut from the sample using a sampler for testing.
(2) Install the specimens on the three moisture permeable cups and close the glass seal door.
(3) Set the sample name, sample thickness, test temperature, test humidity and other parameters.
(4) Start the air supply and click the “Start Test†option.
(5) After the test is over, the instrument automatically calculates and displays the test results.
6, test results
The water vapor transmission rates of the aluminum-coated paper samples tested in this paper were: 21.2146 g/(m2·24h), 22.1207 g/(m2·24h), and 22.4576 g/(m2·24h), respectively.
