Meet the functional needs of the packaging bag

Among the pharmaceutical packaging that won the Dupont Award, there is the packaging of the ductal angiography catheter from Taut Corporation of Geneva, Illinois. Its Rolling Packaging Products won silver awards in non-food categories.

This package includes the surface layer and the web reel heat sealed together. The surface web is uncoated DuPont HDPE Synthetic Paper (Tyvek 1073B) and is flexo printed in one color.

The clear base web is a 48ga polyester film with a 50mm peelable sealer coextruded coating.

Prior to this reform in March 2002, Taut's packaging pouch was heat-sealed onto a base web of 48 g polyester/50 mm polyethylene copolymer with a coated Tyvek topsheet web.

Dhuanne Dodrill, executive vice president of Rollprint, said that the use of uncoated Tyvek is particularly important for cost savings, although Taut's vice president of sales, Raul Brizula, has not yet confirmed it. However, he pointed out that this new pouch structure has brought many improvements.

Brizula said that firstly the process of heat-sealing was improved and it was completed on a continuously operating machine. We are experiencing more advantages of this sealing machine, he added.

This kind of packaging is not very sensitive to good heating requirements during the production process. The burden on the operator is reduced and the operation is more comfortable.

Then there is the "functionality" and appearance of the package, especially in the sealed area.

"We have very strict tolerance rules for fiber tears," Brizula said. "We don't like to see particles on the device or in the operating room. This package has a good, clean, consistent seal, and therefore more attractive to customers." He said that this seal was peeled clean, producing a visible white mark, Confirm the integrity of the package and provide the user with assurance.

Brizula also pointed out that the yellowness of the new structure is low, which is very important. Unlike the coating Tyvsek tends to yellow, the uncoated Tyvek is almost non-yellowing, especially immediately following disinfection. If this product is stored for 12 to 18 months, yellowing occurs when coated Tyvek is used. When employees in the operation room see yellowing, they think that they may be due or old products.

This new product is sold in the United States and overseas. Taut also uses the same packaging for capillary discharge devices.
