Degradable mineral water bottles come out

Husky collaborated with BI-OTA Cargill Dow LLC and SIG Corpoplast to launch the world's first corn-based biodegradable bottle (NatureWorks PLA).

In this collaboration, Husky provided BI-OTA's Colorado Mineral Water with a 24-cavity HyPET 120 system, which is now used to produce 12 oz, 0.5 liter, and 1 liter mineral water bottles. The Husky Preface Development Center also participated in the entire design process of preforms and bottles with blow molder supplier SIG Corpoplast.

According to Cargill Dow LLC, the newly introduced mineral water bottle is in full compliance with the requirements of local and industry degradation equipment. Mike Urquhart, vice president of Husky PET, believes that the success of this development is a powerful proof that the unification of commercial efficiency and environmental protection is completely achievable. BI-OTA CEO David M. Zutler also stated that BI-OTA's degradable bottle is a revolution in the beverage industry.
