According to reports, Nestle's branded bottled water (330 ml and 550 ml bottles) sold in China has all replaced the original bottle types with new international bottle types. The new generation of international environmental protection bottles is designed and developed by Nestlé France Packaging Technology R&D Center. It is currently one of the lightest packages in the world. The new bottle reduced raw materials by 22% compared to the original, reducing carbon emissions. The new bottle can be easily compressed into biscuits from top to bottom after drinking, saving up to 80% of the recycling space.
Nestlé has always supported the WET project. WET is the first non-profit organization with the aim of "Water Knowledge" education. There are now activities in more than 50 countries. With the support of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission’s Moral Education Division and the Shanghai Pudong Institute for Educational Development, so far, WET activities have been widely carried out in 17 primary schools in Shanghai, and 8,000 students have received training.
Hu Gensheng of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Educational Development Research Institute said: “Environmental education for students has always been the focus of the Board of Education.†Gean Long, head of bottled water business unit of Nestlé, said that it is incumbent to strengthen the education of children's water resources protection.
