Garbage disposal industry: France recycles 80% of packaging waste

France's "ecological packaging" group and the French Association of Mayors jointly published a statistics on the 10th, said that currently 80% of France's waste packaging waste has been recycled.

Group President Eric Geelong told Xinhua News Agency reporters that waste packaging waste mainly refers to the waste that was originally used to package goods in household garbage, including plastic bags, paper cases, and glass bottles. According to the joint statistics of the group and the French Association of Mayors, 63% of waste packaging wastes in France were reprocessed into cardboard, metal, glass bottles and plastics, and 17% were converted into energy.

Geelong said that as a matter of fact, garbage recycling is a huge industry. It can avoid "white pollution" and greatly improve the environment. It is estimated that the group will recycle 3 million tons of waste packaging waste in 2003.
